Description

Rare antique Scottish pottery bowl titled, ‘Caller Herrin’ or ‘Fresh Herring’. It was a traditional cry of Scottish fishwives who carried produce for sale in their large baskets as seen in the decoration. Made by Methven Pottery in the 19th century.

In good condition with no chips or cracks. Wear commensurate with age and usage – please see photos.

Measures 18cm in diameter.
